At Chalié Richards it is important that we encourage our consumers to enjoy our brands both responsibly and in moderation. The primary route to achieving this has been through ensuring our consumers have the right facts and information about alcohol.
Chalié Richards helps fund the Drinkaware organisation whose objective is to advise on safe and sensible drinking levels and the effects of alcohol on health.
The health, safety and welfare of its employees is of paramount importance to the company. The executive team of Chalié Richards is regularly updated by the dedicated health & safety team. Accident and incident statistics are closely monitored to ensure the business reacts to any issues promptly and a 50% drop in the number of accidents has been seen (despite increased reporting).
The company has invested in health & safety training for many staff, particularly in higher-risk operational areas, and it works with union and employee representatives, and its own managers, to proactively manage health & safety.
Over recent years employees have been recruited to act as full-time trainers allowing them to pass on key skills, highlight potential operational hazards and encourage the development of their colleagues – this approach also increases the flexibility of the workforce. The trainers are key in communicating out awareness of safety issues on a preventative basis.
The Chalié Richards community starts with our employees and ripples out to the wider environment.
We encourage all employees to take pride in where they work and one way this is brought to life is by providing financial support to sports teams and individuals they are involved with.
This has seen Chalié Richards support many local football, martial arts, basketball and rugby teams.
Chalié Richards brands are also passionate supporters of sport - Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer is now a leading partner to rugby clubs at all levels including the Scottish and Welsh rugby unions, USA Rugby, Northampton Saints, Newcastle Falcons, Ospreys, Cardiff Blues, Newport Gwent Dragons, Llanelli Scarlets, Yorkshire Carnegie, Richmond and Esher.
Crabbie’s also supports grassroots rugby clubs through its reward scheme at www.crabbiesrugby.co.uk
Previously, the Crabbie’s brand was headline sponsor of the Grand National horse race, one of the premier racing events in the world, and has also sponsored Scottish football club Hibernian.
Chalié Richards has also backed UK cycling with headline sponsorship of the Tour Of Britain event through its Eisberg Alcohol Free Wine brand.
The company has also long been a leading supporter of The Benevolent – a charity founded in 1886 to make a real difference to the daily lives of those who have worked in the Drinks Industry and now need help. Chalié Richards makes financial donations, encourages staff fundraising and assists in the holding of annual events.
